Karlsruhe, February 26, 2018. Eugen Seitz specializes in valve technologies for critical processes and carries out highly demanding change order processes that involve external inspection bodies (explosion protection, nuclear power plants etc.). With the PRO.FILE PLM software developed by German software maker PROCAD, Seitz brings together product data, documents, and task management in its change order process. The software controls and documents every single step in the process.

Eugen Seitz relies on SolidWorks to design its valve solutions. The CAD system along with the Infor production planning system are tightly integrated with PRO.FILE. PRO.FILE was chosen for its vast array of configuration options that not only make it easy to integrate it with other IT systems, but also deliver flexibility in customizing change order processes.

Today, Eugen Seitz uses the entire spectrum of PROCAD products: PRO.FILE has been complemented with the PROOM document exchange platform and the PRO.CEED add-on, which adds process and project management to the software’s data management capabilities. Because Eugen Seitz serves the needs of the power plant industry, it has to comply with very strict requirements regarding approval and reporting imposed by external inspection bodies. This makes its processes highly complex. “PRO.CEED gives us everything we need to precisely model our processes,” says Maico Presente. “Our users are given a clear structure for their work, the different steps are clearly defined, and everything is fully documented.”

Seitz used the “Change Management” PRO.CEED Application Package as a template and customized it to its requirements – which is much easier than creating every single form and process throughout the change management workflow from scratch. Acceptance by inspection authorities is now achieved much faster than before.
