Modern PDM/PLM systems are often used to manage massive amounts of data. Without the ability to conveniently organize and structure them, however, users of these applications can quickly lose track. This not only costs valuable time, but also leads to costly mistakes.

PRO.FILE 8.7 introduces a new flexible object that allows users to consolidate different documents and product data on a particular process in a central location. This functionality is particularly helpful in complex and distributed storage structures, where it helps task owners manage and coordinate their work. They can, for example, use a change folder to collect and combine their mandatory documents along with all accompanying documents such as documentation, emails, and images.

The “smart structure” in PRO.FILE 8.7 now also allows users to color code objects by different categories like, for example, in Microsoft Outlook, giving them a much faster overview especially when dealing with long results lists.

More than 50 additional enhancements and adaptations were incorporated into the PRO.FILE release, which is now available. “Getting organized the smart way to better deal with the flood of documents” is the central theme of the latest release 8.7 and it is already assisting customers in achieving just that.
