Karlsruhe/Magdeburg, December 16, 2016 The Hugo-Junkers-Preis is awarded annually by the ministry of commerce, science, and digitalization of the German state of Sachsen-Anhalt. The “CPPSprocessAssist” research project led by the German Ministry of Education and Research to which PROCAD GmbH & Co. KG is contributing as a development partner was awarded the third price in the “Most Innovative Alliance” category in the context of Industry 4.0 research.

Sachsen-Anhalt’s ministry of commerce, science, and digitalization has been recognizing groundbreaking innovations in science, industry, and trade with the Hugo-Junkers-Preis for 25 years now. And this year, it was once again looking for clever products, services, business models, and alliances.

The “CPPSprocessAssist” research project led by the German Ministry of Education and Research received the award for “Most Innovative Alliance”. The research consortium consists of the Magdeburg-based Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF, GESA Automation GmbH, PROCAD GmbH & Co. KG and Fasihi GmbH as development partners, and CeH4 technologies GmbH, IPT Gesellschaft für Innovative Particle mbH, Mitteldeutsches Bitumenwerk GmbH and ROBETA-Holz OHG as application partners.

The research project received two million euros in funding and aims to improve equipment availability in the process industry. The research is intended to

  • drastically reduce unplanned downtime due to technical problems.
  • improve equipment availability.
  • automatically document maintenance and repair work.

This will give manufacturing companies in the chemical, energy, natural gas and refinery industries predictive maintenance capabilities that allow them to ensure reliable operations.
